WHAT THIS IS

A generous buffet, thoughtfully served

Guests serve themselves. That only works if hot food stays hot, cold food stays cold, and someone is watching the queue before it forms. The team manages presentation, replenishment and guest flow throughout the agreed service.

Licensed culinary partners cook for the room you actually have. myCHEF designs the spread and coordinates the line, the staffing and the clear-down. Your host can spend time with guests while the service team looks after the buffet.

The format sits inside Catering. If the brief is a named night — a wedding, a birthday, a company event — start with Event catering in Dubai and come back here for how people will eat.

WHO THIS IS FOR

A flexible meal for a varied guest list

A buffet earns its place when tastes differ, when the count runs from about twenty into the hundreds, and when you want people on their feet between plates. A birthday, a company lunch, a Christmas table, an Eid gathering — same format, different rooms.

It is the wrong tool below about twenty guests. The line looks thin and dishes cool between visits. Food delivered with no team on site starts from 10 guests — that is drop-off catering. A dinner for a handful of people belongs with a Private chef, which has no minimum headcount.

If you want courses to the table, read Buffet vs plated. If the food is a styled centrepiece rather than a meal, that is Grazing tables. If the cooking is the entertainment, use Live cooking stations. If people are standing with a drink in one hand, use Canapé catering.

THE NIGHT

Buffet catering Dubai: food and service planned together

Heat. Replenish. Labels. Queue. That is the job. The last guests still have to find hot food, a label they can trust, and a line that moves. That is what people mean by the best buffet catering in Dubai — not the opening photograph.

Hot pans go into holding equipment, not onto a table to go lukewarm. Fresh trays replace tired ones before the station looks empty. Halal buffet catering in Dubai is the default: ingredients are sourced that way unless the brief says otherwise. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy dishes are separate, labelled items. Specific certificates belong in the brief, not after the fact.

One long table in a large room becomes a queue. We split the line — more than one point of service — when the count and the layout need it. Independent licensed partners cook to Dubai Municipality food-safety standards. myCHEF coordinates the structure. You engage those professionals for the night.

WHAT YOU ARE BUYING

What the menu and service include

The quote is the food plus the team. You do not hire trays and hope someone watches them.

  • The menu

Hot and cold dishes, sides, breads and dessert. Sized to the guest count and the diets in the room.

  • The kitchen

Licensed culinary partners matched to the brief. No chef is promised by name until the event is scoped.

  • The line

Chafing and holding equipment, platters, labels, linen for the spread. A layout that does not stall at one tray.

  • The team

Station staff sized to the count — enough to replenish, label and keep a queue moving. The staffing plan reflects the layout and service duration.

  • The night

Arrival, setup, service, replenishment and clear-down. Clear-down responsibilities are confirmed in your proposal.

  • The diets

Halal ingredients by default. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy dishes cooked and labelled as separate items, not as an afterthought.

THE SPREAD

Dishes selected for buffet service

A buffet catering menu in Dubai is built for holding time, not only for a tasting. Curries, grills, rice, salads, breads, a dessert that can sit. Pasta finished in a pan belongs on a live station, not in a tray for an hour.

Arabic, Indian, Mediterranean, Asian, Italian or a mixed international buffet — chosen because of who is in the room, not because a brochure lists cuisines. We fix the balance of meat, seafood, vegetarian and labelled diets with you before anyone shops.

A breakfast buffet is the same job earlier in the day. Holding equipment, labels, a line that does not stall before the first meeting.

THE FIGURE

How the price is built

Hosts ask the price first. Fair. A staffed event buffet starts from AED 120 per person, from 20 guests. That is the published buffet catering price per person in Dubai for a maintained spread with a small team. Guest count, menu, how many stations, venue access and timing move it. 5% VAT sits on its own line. Every proposal is itemised in writing before you confirm.

Use these published starting prices to compare formats. Your written proposal confirms the complete event total.

TELL US THE NIGHT

Date, guest count and venue is enough to start

You do not need a finished menu before you write. We typically reply within 15 minutes during business hours, with an itemised proposal to follow.

01 · Planning with myCHEF

Build a buffet guests can use comfortably

Start with a balanced meal rather than the largest possible dish count. Choose mains that work together, a substantial vegetarian option, complementary sides and a dessert selection. Explain the mix of adults and children, the meal time and whether guests will have already eaten canapés before the buffet opens.

The serving area needs space for queues, plates and replenishment. Tell us whether guests will arrive at once or eat in smaller groups, and whether there is room for more than one service point. The kitchen or preparation area should allow the team to replace dishes without carrying equipment through a crowded dining space.

Confirm serving equipment, dish labels, crockery, staffing and collection in the written quote. The team’s responsibilities during service and after the meal should be clear. If your venue has limited space, compare drop-off catering or passed canapés before deciding that a buffet is the best format.

02 · Planning with myCHEF

Give the menu a clear direction

Begin with a few dishes or flavours that your guests will enjoy, then build a balanced selection around them. A strong menu includes variety in texture, colour and richness without trying to cover every possible preference with a separate dish. The most useful question is how the food will work as a complete meal or reception.

Consider the time of day and the length of service. A short welcome reception needs a different amount and style of food from an evening where canapés replace dinner. Similarly, a working lunch should be easy to serve and enjoy within the available break.

Menu examples are a starting point for discussion. Ingredients, dietary variations and the practical requirements of your venue need to be reviewed before the final selection is confirmed. That gives the team room to recommend food that suits the occasion and can be served well.

03 · Planning with myCHEF

Plan quantities around the format, not just the headcount

A guest count becomes useful when it is connected to the way people will eat. A short reception with light bites needs a different food plan from an evening where passed dishes are the main meal. Children, late arrivals and guests attending only part of an event may also affect the quantities required.

Tell us whether other food will be available and whether the service follows a meal earlier in the day. The chef can then recommend a sensible balance of dishes and portions. Generosity should mean guests can enjoy the occasion comfortably, rather than simply ordering more of every item.

Confirm the final numbers by the deadline in your proposal. A late increase may affect ingredients, equipment and staff as well as food quantity. Clear updates allow the team to assess the change properly and confirm any effect on the price or service plan.
