What My School Food actually is
My School Food is Dubai Municipality’s registered-supplier model for educational food. Coverage is large: hundreds of thousands of students, hundreds of institutions. The point of the platform is not a marketing badge. It is who is allowed to sell food into those sites, with menus and ingredients going through municipal review and daily monitoring on municipal channels.
A caterer who cannot tell you their supplier status is not ready for a school year. myCHEF will not claim a My School Food listing on this page until that registration is complete and on file.
What the 2026 national guide bans
The national guide for food and beverages in the school environment is aimed at what children are sold and served: sugary and energy drinks, confectionery, fried food, all nuts, processed meats. Colour-coded “smart food” language from municipal releases uses green, yellow, red and black. We do not invent extra colours. We do not claim KHDA writes the food permit — KHDA sets wellbeing expectations; Dubai Municipality writes the food rules.
What a school should ask to see
Education-supply food permit, not only a restaurant licence. PIC Level 3 on the shift that cooks. Health cards matching the people on site. Allergen cards for the 14 declared allergens. Temperature logs for the van and the line. Halal certificates that match the proteins on the cycle.
If the conversation starts with a cashless app, send them back to software. School catering Dubai is food. Canteen management Dubai is the room. Neither is a till login.
Nurseries are in the same wave
My School Food covers nurseries as well as schools. Early-years textures and nut-free production are stricter, not looser. Nursery catering Dubai is the service page for that kitchen. This post stays with the rules.
